WE’RE KEELE AND WE ARE DIFFERENT
Keele University, was founded in 1949 by A.D. Lindsay, former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Oxford, Keele has always been different from other universities – and, 70 years later, we still are.
Centrally located in England, Keele is in North Staffordshire between Manchester and Birmingham and only 90 minutes from London by train. Keele has the largest single site campus in the UK with over 600 acres of beautiful countryside, offering the benefits of a spacious campus setting, whilst still offering easy access to both town and city life. With a diverse student community, the campus provides student accommodation, teaching buildings, highly rated library facilities, restaurant and cafes, Students’ Union, shops, a bank, a sports centre, pharmacy and health centre, to give its students a complete self-contained study and leisure environment. We have a student population of about 11,000 students (10% international) with the support of more than 2,000 staff.
Whether you’re considering a foundation course or an undergraduate degree, a master’s or a PhD, Keele is a place where students thrive – we’re proud to be joint No.1 in England for Course Satisfaction in the Guardian University League Table 2019, in addition to having been ranked No.1 in England for student satisfaction in the 2018 National Student Survey, of broad-based universities. We were also awarded Gold in the recent Teaching Excellence Framework.
Keele’s Combined Honours programmes also give you the opportunity to study two different subjects giving you a wider range of expertise by the end of your course. With some of our Combined Honours course the two subjects are studied in isolation to each other.
Other Combined Honours courses involve more integration between the two subjects where there will be elements of both subjects within individual modules.
Keele is a forward thinking university that is continually investing in its teaching facilities to remain at the forefront of technological advancements. A degree from Keele is designed to provide students with critical and essential areas of knowledge in their chosen field of study, as well as developing them as individuals with key skills that will prepare them for life beyond university. Taught in small groups, students also benefit from one-to-one access to academics who value the quality of teaching as highly as research. Keele offers a range of scholarships for international students.
Keele’s reputation and area of expertise ranges across Medicine and Health Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences and Natural Sciences, with each Faculty providing a diverse array of courses that deliver a unique and international learning experience.
Keele is proud that 97% of its research was deemed to be world-leading, or of international importance, in the Research Excellence Framework 2014. Keele attracts highly acclaimed academics that are experts in their field and provide students with excellence in teaching and exposure to critical and current research. Keele delivers international excellence and impact in focused areas of research, throughout the Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, Health and Humanities.
