University of Bath received Royal Charter in 1966 and are now established as a top 10 UK university with a reputation for research and teaching excellence. The university itself has close connections with industry and the public and voluntary sectors since its inception in 1966. In addition to developing strong links with universities abroad. Its research is internationally respected, and its students are in demand by employers because of the high quality of the teaching offered here. Bath has been ranking highly in the league tables of UK universities published by a number of national newspapers, including The Times, The Independent and The Guardian.

Our mission is to deliver world-class research and teaching, educating our students to become future leaders and innovators, and benefiting the wider population through our research, enterprise and influence. The University has received a Gold award in recognition for excellence in its teaching, as part of the new assessment of teaching quality in universities. The Gold rating means that the teaching at the University of Bath is of the highest quality found in the UK. The TEF Panel judged that Bath delivers consistently outstanding teaching, learning and outcomes for its students.

The university 50th Anniversary in 2016, giving Bath an opportunity to reflect on our past and look forward to our future. In keeping with our founding principles and our current strategies, they will continue to deliver world-class research and teaching, extend our international influence, enrich our student experience and invest in new infrastructure.

Bath is ranked 9th, up two places from last year and has retained its position as the region’s top university for a fourth consecutive year. Reclaimed its spot as a top 10 UK university in this year’s Complete University Guide 2020 University League Tables. Bath is the only South West university named in the top 10. An impressive 18 out of 26 subjects are ranked in the top 10 in the UK, with Architecture and Marketing named the best in the country for a second and fourth year running respectively.

Bath is only 1 hour and 25 minutes away from London by train. The University of Bath’s buildings are set in an attractive campus about a mile from the centre of Bath, a World Heritage City.
